Our Turf Producers' Select formulations are produced in blending facilities specializing in sod. The machinery is thoroughly cleaned and inspected between each batch. Separate equipment is used for sod bluegrass or sod tall fescue. Turf Producers' Select sod quality assurance continues through shipment as each pallet of sod seed is wrapped and segregated on the truck to further protect against potential cross contamination. With Turf Producers' Select, our attention to detail is second to none.
Kentucky Bluegrass, Poa pratensis, is one of the most commonly used cool-season grasses. Most often, it can be found providing the landscape for golf courses, athletic fields, home lawns, and parks throughout the United States. The popularity of Kentucky Bluegrass is due to its ability to thrive in hot and cool temperatures, its tolerance to a variety of mowing heights, and its moderate fertilization and watering requirements.
Kentucky Bluegrass spreads through underground runners known as rhizomes. Its root system may grow to depths of up to one and a half feet, providing dense, lush turf characterized by high resistance to weeds and tolerance to heavy traffic. Many varieties and hybrids of Kentucky Bluegrass are available and exhibit a dark green color and a fine to medium leaf texture.Seeds/Pound (approximate): 800,000-1,600,000
Tall Fescue, Festuca arundinacea, is a cool-season grass that establishes well in both partial sun and shady areas such as under trees. Tall Fescue grass is most commonly found throughout the midsection and northern areas of the United States. Because of its resilience in high-traffic areas and excellent wear resistance, Tall Fescue provides an excellent turf for high-traffic areas such as athletic fields. Tall Fescue had a deep root system with roots that can grow to a depth of 4 to 6 feet, taking in moisture that shallow-rooted grasses cannot reach.
Tall Fescue spreads by shoots from the crown known as tillers. It requires low to moderate fertilization and water with a recommended mowing height between two and four inches. Most Turf-Type Tall Fescue varieties are naturally insect resistant due to high levels of endophytes. Most Tall Fescue varieties available are coarse-textured, wide-bladed, and adapted to various soil types and climates.

Fine fescue is a cool-season grass ideal for golf course roughs in northern climates. It includes fine leaf types creeping red fescue, sheeps fescue, chewings fescue and hard fecsue. Although fine fescue is able to grow in partial shade and withstand periodic droughts, fine fescue is weakened in very hot temperatures and may require additional watering to survive through extreme highs that last longer than one week.
Fine fescue can be mowed down to a half inch or may go completely unmown. It requires low to moderate fertilization and water, except in high-temperature situations described above.More Details
One of the most popular choices for overseeding, Ryegrasses possess a superior ability to withstand stress and wear, making it ideal for golf courses and athletic fields. This cool-season grass is known for quick establishment and a rapid germination rate. These traits allow Ryegrasses to serve as perfect seed compliments to use with later germinating species.
Bentgrass is able to survive under high-traffic, high-stress conditions and can withstand extremely close cutting heights. Because of these characteristics, it is only natural that Bentgrass is widely used on a variety of golf courses including greens, tees, and fairways. Bentgrass is able to thrive in a variety of climates including cool, transitional, and arid. Bentgrass provides a dense surface resilient to weeds but must be fertilized and watered regularly to avoid harmful diseases and insects.
Bentgrass can be mowed at heights between 1/10 and 1/2 of an inch. It spreads via above ground runners called stolons or tillers (shoots from the crown).More Details

Native plants are those that naturally occur in a given habitat. A species that is native to one area of the world may not be native to another. However, native plants are generally well adapted to their particular environment and are more likely to thrive there. Once established, native plants provide an ecologically appropriate and environmentally sound habitat.
At Landmark Turf & Native Seed, we offer a complete and extensive selection of native seed and introduced seed species and varieties for reclamation, erosion control, mining, wetland, riparian, forestry and wildlife habitat. We custom blend and mix to meet Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) seed, utility right-of-way and mining reclamation seed specifications. Wildflowers not only provide beauty to any landscape, they also provide irreplaceable benefits to the environment as well. As native species, wildflowers thrive in the ecosystems where they originated, requiring less water and inputs and higher tolerances to diseases and pests. They provide the necessary habitats for pollinators, insects, and wildlife while also improving soil health, enhancing forage conditions, and preventing erosion. We are pleased to provide a wide range of wildflowers, forbs, and specially formulated mixes ideal for any region and purpose.More Details

Cover crops are an agronomic tool to alleviate soil compaction and soil-born pests, capture, recycle and redistribute nitrogen and other nutrients, and enhance the seedbed for following crop. They have the ability to reduce leaching, runoff and erosion, build soil organic matter and microbial action, and attract beneficial insects. Landmark Turf & Native Seed provides a range of species that do exceptionally well as cover crops for a variety of regions, soil compositions, and planting needs.More Details
Legumes can be used extensively as an agronomic tool for forage, hay, as a cover crop, for green manure, for ground cover, in crop rotations, as well as for human consumption and oil production. This plant group has the ability to fix nitrogen and improve the overall health of the soil, thus improving the productivity of the crop. With the integration of legumes into crop rotations, usable nitrogen is kept in the soil, reducing the need for commercial fertilizer applications. We pride ourselves in our selection of legumes and their ability to benefit the soil and future production.More Details
